This food and wine tour in Spain offers a mixture of history, culture and good food at a selection of interesting local restaurants and a chance to taste the local wine both at the table while eating and also when visiting two small unique wineries in the Fontanares winegrowing area. The tour is called “The Borgias” as the infamous family were originally from the town of Xativa. The trip is loosely based on their connections with the area.  Bocairent, a picturesque and historical town in the mountains and Xativa with its medieval part of town, its castle and its fascinating history provide a perfect backdrop for exploring the local culture and food. All this is combined with comfortable hotels makes this trip the perfect combination of relaxation and exploration and the chance to get to know the local gastronomic delights in a beautiful part of real Spain.
