Cooking Paella Weekend
« back

Summer is upon us,here in Valencia, and we are excited as we have just launched our Valencia Paella Project which is a weekend mini break designed for people who are interested in learning to cook Paella and visit the Mediterranean city of Valencia. To celebrate the launch we invited two journalists to try our
weekend; one from the Olive Magazine and one from the Easyjet inflight magazine. Once they had arrived at Valencia airport they visited the beach at Malvarrosa to try paella in its typical surroundings.
Besides trying the delights of a paella at the Malvarrosa beach in full view of the azure coloured sea, the journalists also tried some of Valencia tapa bars in the centre of the city. The next day they visited  the lovely Central Market, full of fresh produce, with the chef where they were taken to different stalls and shown how to buy the correct ingredients for the paellas we were going to cook. Once back in the kitchens everyone was put to work preparing ingredients and listening to Chef Barbara's instructions.Whilst tasting the tapas we prepared ,waiting for the paellas to finish cooking we also tried a Valencia cava which was delicious paired with the mussels and Gambas al Ajillo (garlic prawns) we had cooked.
All in all it was a fun weekend with lots of tasting of local dishes, tapas and wine. We can't wait to hear what the journalists think about our trip!
