If you would like to discover one of Spain’s best kept secrets then this special interest tour in Spain is ideal. You will visit the city of Teruel and it’s province. The tour is focused on getting to know the region and its great food including ham (Jamon Serrano) as well as the splendid natural environment. Teruel is a wild and mountainous area but has some of the most picturesque villages and scenery in Spain. This tour is is a short one(three nights and four days) and combines food,wine,a city visit,and nature.We visit and sleep in three different places all of which are rich in culture and history. Besides being the capital of the province Teruel is a historical city which is packed with beautiful buildings and great food.. The famous story of the Lovers of Teruel and their mausoleum are captivating. We also visit Albarracin,picturesque mountain village(currently proposed as UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Rubielos de Mora both small but unique; boasting old palaces,churches and unique food. This mountain area makes for a slightly cooler option in the summer months.

The hotels we use are all independently owned unique hotels,comfortable,clean and in excellent situations.

Visits include

  • Seperate guided tours of Rubielos de Mora,Teruel and Albarracin.Visit to The Lovers of Teruel. 
  • In Albarracin we also visit local cave paintings


There is a short walk in the countryside on the morning of the visit to the cave paintings in Albarracin.


The local food is typical mountain food.The Spanish Jamon is excellent as well as the local lamb.There will also be a chance to try local cheese and sausages.

Tour Itinerary and Price

A Three Night Break
Day 1:
You will be picked up from a collection point in Valencia. We will then proceed to Rubielos de Mora in Teruel and enjoy a guided tour of the village and then an outdoor lunch. After lunch you are free to do what you like and there is time to relax at the hotel.Dinner is in the hotel restaurant.

Day 2:
We will visit the city of Teruel and visit among other places the famous Mausoleum of the Lovers of Teruel. At midday we will have
a meal in one of Teruel's best restaurants. After sampling the local gastronomic delights, in the afternoon you are free to relax in the hotel or explore the city further.You are free to do your own thing for dinner.

Day 3:
Once breakfasted we will depart for Albarracin in the mountains.We will make a guided tour of the historical town and its charming architecture
After lunch you will have the opportunity to explore Albarracin at your leisure. For dinner you will be free to do your own thing.

Day 4:
This day is an outdoor day as we will be visiting nearby Las Rodenas which is a pine forest of outstanding beauty and which has caves with some excellent rock paintings. We will do a walk through the forest to visit the different caves and see the views from the rocky outcrops.We will then have lunch in local restaurant. Once the meal is finished we will depart for Valencia arriving at approx. 17.30/18.00.
